Ric Peri
Richard (Ric) Peri is currently the Vice President of Government and Industry Affairs for the Aircraft Electronics Association (AEA). In this position, Ric is responsible for helping to draft aviation regulations as well as instruct users on the proper interpretation of the regulations and consults with aviation companies worldwide. He actively participates in rulemaking in Europe, Canada, Australia and the United States.
As a certificated mechanic, licensed pilot, operational crewmember and entrepreneur, Ric has over 35 years experience in aviation flight operations, aircraft maintenance, and airport operations and is a technical expert on international aviation maintenance regulations, repair station operations, environmental management, and occupational safety. Ric is a U. S. Coast Guard veteran, a graduate of Embry Riddle Aeronautical University and former faculty of the University of Southern California and Embry Riddle Aeronautical University.
Ric is an active advocate for aviation small businesses worldwide and is an internationally recognized author and a sought after speaker on all areas of aviation maintenance issues including regulations, industrial safety and environmental management. He has been recognized for his accomplishments by the White House, the U. S. Coast Guard, the Federal Aviation Administration and ASTM International.

DOUG JOHNSON – PRESIDENT INSURAMERICA AVIATION, INC. AN AFFILIATE OF J. SMITH LANIER & CO.
Doug Johnson is the president of Insuramerica Aviation, Inc. Doug has 30 years experience in the aviation insurance industry. His career began in Melbourne, Florida where he was the managing partner of a large regional aviation insurance agency. When that agency was sold to a national company, Doug joined them as vice-president and regional manager of their Atlanta office. he served in numerous capacities for the agency, including national marketing manager.
Prior to the start of his aviation insurance career, Doug spent seven years with a special intelligence unit of hte United States Air Force. he is a private pilot. He has served on the adjunct faculty of the Florida Institute of technology, School of Aeronautics and Brevard Community College. He is also a popular speaker at meetings and conventions.
Doug was among the first to earn the prestigious Certified Aviation Insurance Professional (CAIP) designation. As an insurance counselor in the field of aviation insurance he assists his clients with coordinating and successfully marketing their insurance needs.
Doug serves on numerous boards and committees with the National Air Transportation Association (NATA), The National Business Aircraft Association (NBAA), The Aviation Insurance Association (AIA), and the Georgia Aviation Trades Association.

Bill Johnson, PhD
Chief Scientific and Technical Advisor for Human Factors in Aircraft Maintenance Systems
Dr. Bill Johnson has over 30 years applied research and development experience with a focus on human performance in maintenance and repair of complex systems. His research efforts concentrated on every day solutions that affect human behavior and performance. Over this time, Dr. Johnson:
- conducted research and development in training, job aiding, safety and additional human factors in a variety of domains including, but not limited to, Navy helicopters, civil aircraft, NASA orbiter and Army electronics.
- served as the contractor manager for FAA Research on Human Factors in Aircraft Maintenance and Inspection. In that capacity, he was the initial manager of the team that conceptualized and delivered the Online Aviation Safety Information System (OASIS) used by all FAA inspectors today.
- managed development of advanced technology Maintenance Human Factors training for Lufthansa Technik, a system being widely adopted throughout the world.
Dr. Johnson has an extensive publication record, dating to the mid-seventies. He served as a FAA Designated Mechanic Examiner, and is a Private Pilot and an Airframe and Powerplant Mechanic.
With aviation-related career employment in universities, private research laboratories and airline companies, Dr. Johnson offers a broad understanding of the many technical, financial and human-centered challenges associated with aircraft maintenance, repair and overhaul.

Deborah Bright
Deborah Bright is a registered nurse with a diploma from St. Elizabeth’s Hospital Nursing School in Utica, NY. She has 17 years of experience as a surgical nurse in the community hospitals of Oneonta and Cooperstown, NY and in Riverdale, GA.
For the past 15 years, she has been in the Medical Office of the American Red Cross Biomedical Services, Southern Region, primarily dealing with blood donor and blood transfusion recipient health issues. Since July 2004 she has volunteered as a medic in the Georgia State Defense Force 1BN, Medical Detachment . There have been several missions that would not have been successful without her licensed participation.
She is also an AHA Certified Healthcare Provider and CPR instructor.
